New Clipper TT in Arizona

We've got about 1600 miles on our 2016 Coachmen Clipper 17FQ (or 179FQ, as it sometimes shows), and glad to have just found this Coachmen/ForestRiver specific forum.

We're home-based in East-Central Arizona, in the pines at 6000' in Gila County. Just the pair of us retired folks and our two traveling ShihTzus (hence the name)

Looking forward to sharing the knowledge and experiences of other Coachmen owners here.

thanks for the welcome...

what is the mileage like, towing that 22-footer with a slide out, with your Ram 1500?

we have an '04 Ram 1500 with the small V8, pulling a 17' Coachmen Clipper... we get 10mpg. except one trip from PHX up the freeway to Flagstaff - I think we got 8. shoulda gone the back way...

Hi,
My mileage towing our 25' Surveyor has gotten a little better since I put the new Leer shell on (from Tom's Camping World there in Surprise, Az). I used to get 10-12 consistently towing at 60 (my comfort speed) and now I'm getting 12-14 (ok, so not going up hills!). I no longer notice any sway or movement when semi's pass me going either direction. Great investment. (We spend a lot of time around Williams and Flagstaff camping and going up those grades from the Prescott area to get there I usually get 10-12mpg depending on weather, summer or winter gas, etc.)
Sounds like you have a nice camper too! Enjoy!
