New folks from MN

Hi all!

My wife and I just purchased our first tent camper after spending some time renting pop up's to make sure it was something we really wanted to do. We lucked out and nabbed a new to us 2012 Rockwood HW276. We have two kids in their early teens that had an absolute blast camping, and actually enjoyed getting away from regular life for a bit!

We probably picked the worse time to look as it seems everyone else is buying tent campers (and campers in general) this year for some strange reason. We lucked out I believe with this very well kept high wall that is loaded to the hilt. Finally picked it up this week and though the season is near over, we are looking forward to making some "shake down runs" to see what goodies we need to collect over the winter.

Here is our new trailer and tow rig:

Welcome to the forum and congrats on your purchase of a 2012 Rockwood HW276. Enjoy and . Reason campers scarce is do to the Virus as folks are going to campers instead of motels. Most likely next year they will be an abundance of campers when these temp campers sell there tt. Later RJD

Thanks for the welcome folks! Been poking around here and there is a lot of good info available. I can already see I'll have some more free time consumed with little improvement mods here and there for personalizing the rig.

New from MN

Welcome the site! You're correct, lots of good info. We began our camping life similarly with an 18 ft pop up when our kids were teens. Figured out if it was something we really wanted to do, without breaking the bank. Agree with other posters, next year will be a better year as Covid impulse buyers will no longer be clogging up campground spaces

First time I've seen a Popup bigger than the TV.
Welcome from Eastern Nebraska / Northwest Missouri. Happy Travels.
First son was 8 months old when we took him camping first time.
One of our grandkids was two weeks old the first time they camped with us.

Welcome to the family and enjoy. Nothing better than having family time during these trying times. Our friends have the same model as you and enjoy it fully.

I see the opposite, as the industry has been growing for the last 6-7 years now, Covid helped produce another 130-160% increase in sales and there are probably tens of thousands of customers that won't even have their newly ordered units delivered till late fall, winter and even spring of 2021. We bought and acreage and cabin in 2018, as I saw this coming then. Sold our 2018 Cherokee this July.

Lebanon Hills campground is open until OCT. 17, and they are right by the zoo. that is always a favorite spot for us. absolutely beautiful campground.

I have a spot reserved there and at Lake Byllesby in October also. Both nice places! It is odd camping only a few miles from the house, but you are definitely secluded especially for being basically right in the middle of 2 cities that are very large (Eagan / Apple Valley). Goob places to learn as they are not far from home
