New from Denver

Greetings from Denver. First time TT owner (2021 Wolfpup 17JG Black Label). I appreciate all of the helpful information in this forum.

We originally rented, and had planned on renting again. We priced out a 3wk trip, and it equated to a significant down payment (~20%). We made the decision to buy and significantly increase our ability to get out and travel as a family at a time where it is increasing challenging.

Buying new was definitely not our first choice. After pricing/scoping out the used market here, and weighing some of the features/warranty this new camper provided, I was able to justify. Then, looking at the Black Label (fiberglass, some other upgrades), I was able to justify that leap as well being in CO and having some additional elements to consider. It is such a slick unit and comparable to the Micro Minnie we had rented, but at a much better price point.

I had actually found an identical model used here in great condition, however the seller wasn’t in a hurry to sell at a loss. The dealer actually beat the price of the used model, and I was able to pick it up at $19988 with some gear.

There was a hard sell on extended warranty (starting at $3500) and paint protection package. They frame it as being priced into the loan. This forum gave good context, and it was a hard no for me. Well, till the end at least. I was able to extend to 5 years at $1700, which perked my interest because we may want to rent this thing eventually and I’m concerned about the slide out. The kicker was that the additional amount put me at a lower interest rate, so it was practically a wash. They got me.

This forum has already been very helpful and I’m going to have a lot of additional questions. Very thankful for all the support here.
