New from Southwestern PA
Hey all, my wife and I along with 2 kids are jumping in with both feet into the world of casual RV'ing/camping. It's a long story how we got to where we are, but the short part of it is, we had an older (1989 Prowler 30ft) camper that had sat for the better part of its life in a seasonal/permanent campground, we brought it home with the hopes to remodel and take it camping. It really was just more than we wanted to deal with from that angle so we started looking at newer used units. Even after reading the various comments about depreciation and letting someone else work the bugs out, we decided for the money spent, especially in the Covid era, we had better options with a brand new one. We purchased a 2021 Forest River Salem 26DBUD. We have towed it approximately 250 miles so far (on top of its trip to east central PA from its origin in Indiana). We also have stayed in it for 2 nights so far. Knock on wood, no issues yet. We have also scheduled our first "official" campground stay.
Aside from camping at actual campgrounds and RV parks, we will regularly be using it at Keystone Raceway Park (drag strip) as a place out of the sun and a place to stay on race weekends.
I look forward to participating here as we begin our actual journey down this path!
