New guy from North Carolina

Hello everyone, glad to be here! Our family (myself, my wife and three sons) has camped for 25 years, but we have just bought our first camper. Our children are grown with children of their own and my wife and I just purchased a 2012 Columbus fifth wheel. Looking forward to lots of fun and hope to see some of you on the road.

Welcome to FRF. After 40+ years and numerous RVs we love the lifestyle. We just started planning a trip to NC to experience the fall color change. Our plan is to base camp in the Cherokee area and day trip from there.

Being from NC, can you offer any suggestions on CGs. We are a 39' 5er w/ 50 amp, can get by on 30 if the weather is cooperating.

Travel safe & enjoy your journeys.

Congrats on the Columbus 5th wheel. While campering might be a little different than camping you should have many wonderful memories to come.

BTW- welcome aboard.

Welcome to the forum and welcome fellow Columbus owner.
Where did you buy your Columbus?
We're also from North Caroloina and we have a lot of great campgrounds in and near our state. Have any plans to go camping soon?
Where's your favorite CG?

One of our favorite campgrounds is Creekwood Farms CG in Waynesville. It's located on a creek, it's near Maggie Valley, and high enough in the mountains to get great views of the changing trees in the Autumn.
Here's their website: Creekwood Farm RV Park, Great Smoky Mountains and Maggie Valley North Carolina
It's actually 50 miles North of Franklin, NC.

After looking at literally close to 50 campers, we went through Tom Johnson's in Marion. We have mules and for the past 10 years have camped in our horse trailer, so we haven't stayed in many real campgrounds....won't be long now.
