New Lexington Owner

My wife and I are the proud owners of, new to us, a 2013 Lexington 283 GTS. We have moved up from a 2008 Trailmanor 3024KS TT and we especially like being self-contained and being able to set up and move quickly. We purchased it from a dealer in Jacksonville, FL and drove it home to Germantown, TN, (southwest TN.). It is a lot larger than our TT and will take some getting used to as we go down the road, but it handles very well. We plan to keep our membership in the TM Owners club (Trailblazers) because we made good friends there through rallies, but we look forward to making new friends in this owners group/rallies. We love the Gulf of Mexico beaches, but we also have plans for a couple of long trips this year, Lord willing, to the southern Utah national parks as well as Glacier NP. So we will seek advice from those of you who might have already made those destinations as well as points getting there. At this time, we do not plan to tow a dinghy. We will have to weigh the pros and cons--gas mileage impact, cost to towing equipment, handling impact, etc.-- and I have already read with interest information about this on this forum. Thanks to everyone for sharing suggestions and experiences.

Welcome from Wisconsin and congrats on your 2013 Lexington 283 GTS. We had a great time at Glacier.

Thanks. Your 5vr looks beautiful. Is it a permanent setup?

Welcome to the family. You will love spending time in southern Utah. It's a beautiful area. My home is Memphis, although I now live in south central MS and have for many years. We have a Georgetown 360. I think you will come to the realization very quickly you will need to pull a tow vehicle. It's no problem and doesn't change your mpg very much. Pulling a vehicle vs the hassell of renting and/or sightseeing in the MH? I'd vote for the tow vehicle. You will love the MH - best traveling around.
