New Lexington owner from Oklahoma

Hello fellow rv owners. I have owned a variety of older campers, TT's, tents, and even a 76 Mitchell Class C, but finally broke down and bought an 04 Lexington 270S as the one I plan to travel in as soon as my wife also retires. I retired after 30 years of teaching high school science. I seem to have some of the same problems with my newly aquired Lexi as some of you. The Concertone half way works, the Sharp half timer had the display speaking a foreign language, and I see evidence of prior leaks. Anything else I should look out for. Oh yeah, when I opened the slide for the first time, the entire piece of trim along the right side dragged on the carpet and was pulled completely off.

Welcome to the forum!

As I have a Rockwood I don't have any knowledge on your Lexington. Evidence of prior leaks... I would suggest checking the caulking on the roof for cracks. Ensuring that your caulking is in good shape would be a good start in preventing leaks. If you find cracks in the caulking you can clean the old caulking and apply self leveling roof caulking over top. You would be able to find this at your local RV supply.

I am sure you will get more input from other members.

to FRF!!

like stated you may need to re-caulk. the self leveling stuff "lap sealant" is available at pretty much any RV place. leaks are something that you HAVE to stay ahead of. rigorious roof inspections AT LEAST twice a year will help

concertone............ I'm no help there

as far as the trim coming off........... sounds like your slide is out of alignment and needs adjustment. if you are halfway handy you can do this yourself. just need to find the manual for it which hopefully came with your rig. if not find out the manufacturer and should be able to download one
