First, Hello to all !
Just purchased our Flagstaff 228D last week. This is our 3rd pup in the past 27 years and are looking forward to our first outing in our new "cabin". I've spent the last week making mods to the unit to suit our needs including adding several drawers to make access to stored items easier, adding several 12V receps, and a small solar panel to maintain the deep cycle battery.
We started out in a small used Viking back in 1985 and then in 1998 for our 25th anniversery bought a brand new Coleman Santa Fe. Now celebrating our 40th Mama thought it was time for a new "cabin" with a few more ammenities.
My first impressions of the Flagstaff are positive with the overall appearence and layout. The exterior details are quite nice and I like the metal skin, the Arizona sun has an appitite for plastic and fiberglass! I did have a few minor quality issues that my dealer addressed for me, and one annoying detail I found is that the battery tray is too small to accomodate my Group 27 deepcycle! ,need to see a welding shop about that.
Again Hello to All

Hi Joemoz,

to the forums and congrats on your new Flagstaff! The "Mods" threads are very popular here for sure. Love seeing all the ideas members have come up with. Feel free to post pics.

With your experience you may already know but from what I understand welding could void the warranty.

Have fun camping and please do share more with us.
