Hello,
we have been camping a lot in tents and in our 4Runner. We got a second dog and, along with getting old, cannot really pull off sleeping in the back of the SUV.
We just picked up a Rockwood 1940LTD yesterday. Our first trailer. Did my homework on quality, price, layout, towing, and figured that is the best for us, at least for now.
The 4Runner pulls it like a champ, i won't bother with a brake controller or weight distribution hitch.
We are limited by the weight and size of it as we will be pulling this year with a Tesla Model Y. I know it will kill the range, but we are ready to cope with that. The biggest killer is air drag, not weight.
The dogs both love it !
Cheers !
