New member from NC
I've been sitting back reading the forums for a few days. A lot of great information on this forum! It's time I poked my head out and said hello to the forum. We picked up our Salem 27RKSS today and got it home safely. We moved up to the TT from a popup. Big difference and I'm loving it so far. Can't wait for our first trip out.
Chris
(Edit) I was going to post a pic but ill have to wait till I'm on my desktop.

Not only do I know where it is, I've stayed there before (Hotel). and we go right through it on i40 when we head east toward Kerr Lake on i85. One of my favorite camp grounds is at Satterwhite point at Kerr.

Do they have water/electric up at Kerr lake? We go to Jordan lake and sycamore lodge mostly (we used to live in Cary 15 min from poplar point and crosswinds at Jordan).

We live in Lexington (High Rock Lake, really). If you like barbecue, you know where we are. I knew Tom Johnson when I lived in Marion. Nice guy who was a school teacher and started out selling a few pop-ups from his yard.
We camp mostly in-state and love Four Paws Kingdom Campground (for dog lovers) in Rutherfordton and Mama Gertie's Hideaway Campground in Swannanoa, between Black Mountain and Asheville. For a really short drive (we like camping better than driving), we like Cross Winds Campground in Linwood, about 10 miles from our house. They have a 4 p.m. Sunday checkout, which is nice.
We make it a point to camp somewhere at least once a month, year-round.
Have fund in that new camper.

I won't be making Goshen. heck, I own one of those other brands and I can't even make their spring rally or their factory rally this year..... this year is all about the big disney trip for us.

goduke- you will like Jordan lake. lots of sites on the water. each campground has a beach to swim at and your parking pass allows you to hop from campground to campground for free. Parker's point has a nice but crowded. both crosswinds and poplar point have a boat ramp also. I have driven through crosswinds in the off season but not camped there. poplar point I have camped at several times. poplar point has sites were you can beach a boat at the bottom of the site. also the reservation site allows you to see pics of the sites online.
