New Member from Ohio - Introduction

Hello from West Central Ohio. My wife and I just purchased an Flagstaff E-Pro E19FBS. We're both late 60s, and still working by choice, for now. This is our ticket to use up comp and vacation time we've accrued over the years.

Our choice of this model was made due to locations we like to get into. It's bigger than a popup and has the creature comforts we like, yet short enough to get into places down logging roads and back in the woods away from the crowd. We tend to gravitate to areas not so "peoply".

Ironically, it was getting Covid in late December which made us pull the trigger on the camper. We both got tired of being cooped up and having staycations, and there is only so much time you can spend on the patio watching the birds.

She works for our city in the Civil Service Board. I'm in my 37th year as Chief Engineer & VP of four network TV stations, (50 years total in broadcasting). She's from Lambertville MI, and I'm from Toledo OH. We enjoy the woods of northern MI and Ontario, to small towns and lesser known roads, and rather take the slow road and see things than the Interstate and miss things.

I'm sure I'll have questions for some of the pros and long-timers in RVing.

Sounds like you've gotten into rving with a lot of thought and for the right reasons. Enjoy the slow road and using up that vacation time.

Welcome! Nothing like the woods and campgrounds of MI. I’m from a small town near Flint MI and spend most of my childhood in places like Traverse City and Indian River. Norther MI is some beautiful country.

Happy camping and stay safe.

Welcome from a (former) buckeye. Grew up in Toledo also. Probably have friends in common, I refer to Toledo as a big small town. Been gone for close to 30 years and can still run into people I knew back in the day.

I grew up on the west side, although my grandparents were east side. Started school at DeVeaux, and then moved out by Franklin Park Mall and when to Whitmer in my Sr. Year. Had friends whose family was also in the food or restaurant biz.

Always was one of the kids to go camping, or go with a friend who had an RV or trailer. One pal had a VW bus and we drove from Toledo to Los Angeles just to see a radio station and dip our toes in the Pacific. Good times!!
