Jack And Dawn.
We just purchased a new Salem 370BL. Been trying to get one for a while, but nothing available. We finally had to order this and it came in about a week ago.
I had to scramble to get a truck (so I thought) because we were getting an RV "soon". Had to look all over and the only one I found that was suitable was this Ram 3500 HD Dually (short bed). But turns out we could have waited because there weren't any RV's out there.
I've been backwoods camping since I was a kid, Dawn, not so much. Both retired, her recently. So we wanted to travel and see what this great country has to offer.
Her brother gave us a 2005 Gulfstream BT Cruiser. I modified the heck out of that. But it finally gave up the ghost (well, at least where I'm done working on it, I just replaced the fuel pump, and it died again). It was OK, but the bathroom was just way too tiny.
So we went big. I believe in overkill, that's why I got the truck I did. We planned on doing this full time, but doesn't look like we can do quite full time, so we got a big RV, at least 2 months at a time.
Oh Yeah, I never owned a truck before, and never pulled anything. So, pulling this 43' behemoth with this giant truck is a new experience. Pulling it home was great, no problems, barely knew it was there. Parking it, lets say I need just a bit more practice backing it up.
