New owner from Missouri

Good Morning,

We currently own a Thor ACE, prior to that a MB Sprinter Class C, and decided to switch to a travel trailer. Why?......it cuts down on vehicles (sold my toad already), is more cost effective (if there is such a thing in RVing) and it is more comfortable to drive my truck then a Class A.

We are waiting for the arrival/delivery of our 2022 Coachmen Freedom Express 243RKS. We choose this particular model because the floor plan. it has a dinette and a couch and the length/weight. Knowing what I have loaded in my Class A right now we should end up at a total weight of 6500 lbs at most which leaves me a nice safety margin with my truck. 2022 Silverado 1500 Duramax, rated at 9000 lbs max tow weight and 900 lbs hitch weight.

So far, the only thing I do not like is the placement of the TV, it appears to be too high. Easily fixed with a drop mount available online.

If anybody here has a 243RKS I would like to know if there is accessible storage under the rear dinette bench?

Welcome from Western Pennsylvania.

I can't answer your question but I am sure someone will come on to answer it.

Welcome from STL, neighbor (Missouri loves company!)

Clarification re: 243RKS … are you sure your new rig isn’t a 246RKS?

Nothing on the outside or the face of the rear bench base. I’d bet one American dollar the rear bench is aluminum framed with a panel held in place with a single screw on the leading edge; hence, some storage (mind the heater hose/duct, natch).

Enjoy!

Hi and Welcome to FRF.
For model-specific help with your Coachmen Freedom Express 243RKS, you should ask those questions in the Coachmen sub-forum. Not the Welcome Mat section.
