New owner of 28DBUD in DFW

We live in the Dallas-Fort Worth area. New to RV camping and new to Forest River. Been reading here a few weeks. Thanks for all the info. We just picked a new 28DBUD a couple weeks ago. I've always been a tent camper so this is quite a change. Having heat, AC, and a bathroom is pretty awesome. Looking forward to exercising our newly purchased Texas State Park pass with this new toy. Again thanks for all the great info.

Thanks. Have you weighed yours? I think I'm going to weigh mine this week and see what the real numbers are.

I have not weighed mine, Door says it was weighed at 5,968 on the factory scales. Loaded with just my wife and I, I figure we are 6,700 max.

Wish I had one of those fancy stickers. Mine does not. I was guessing 300 over dry and then another 500, so 6700 sounds pretty close for me too.

They are pretty awesome campers. I actually just upgraded my TV from a 2004 Avalanche to a 2013 Dodge Ram 1500. Looking forward to seeing how much better this truck with 100 more HP and 100 more ft pounds of torque and 1,460 more pounds of towing capacity handles the rig.

I bet that'll make a big difference. That's probably about the same specs as my tundra and it does pretty well. I know it's there, but power is no issue.

I'm fine with knowing its there, and the Avalanche suspension handled it just fine, but that 5.3L with only 295 HP when new just didn't have the cojones when pulling ours.
