New owners from Maryland

Hello all. So glad to see there is a forum specific to Forest River. We just traded in a 2002 Coleman pop-up for a 2015 Wildwood X-lite, the 19.5 foot bunkhouse. We had the pop-up for two years and realized we love family camping. So, in February I started a new job with "normal" hours, I used to work overnights on the weekends. Now I work M-F and we can do short weekend trips along with longer planned vacation trips. That led to our decision to upgrade.

We are thrilled to get more into camping, visit new campgrounds and make memories with our family.

I will "assume" since you have a bunkhouse, that you have kids, so let me tell you about a great MD SP....Point Lookout SP.

They have a wonderful nature center with programs all weekend for kids. It is on the spit of land below Annapolis that is where the Potomac runs into the Chesapeake.

It has lots of history, started as a resort, then a hospital during the Civil War and a POW camp. There is a large fishing pier, a great little lake to paddle around on with canoes or kayaks, a beach area, and a light house.

We camphost there for the month of June and it is wonderful, if slightly buggy.

Welcome to the Forest River Forums. There is plenty of great information on the FRF. Now that you have found the FRF you might consider joining FROG (Forest River Owners’ Group) so you can get all the information about rallies and campouts with other owners of Forest River products. Membership is free and you will receive periodic newsletters with a lot of great information. Here’s a link to the official Forest River Owners’ Group website FROG - Forest River Owners Group

Great family campsites

Welcome to a complete camping experience. Try Rocky Gap SP, east of Cumberland, MD. Only 'A' loop has electric but great swimming, fishing and kid activities. Try Western MD RR tour in Cumberland. If you want to go to the shore, try Cape Henlopen SP in Delaware.

Thanks for all of the welcomes!!!!

I am familiar with Point Lookout SP and Rocky Gap SP. We have not camped at either yet, though. We love to go geocaching, so we've visited many parks around here. Now we can combine our love of geocaching with our newer love of camping.

Welcome from southeast Virginia. We always enjoyed Cunningham Falls State Park near Thurmont, MD.
