New pop up owner

My name is Nic, and we now live in NE Tennessee. Bought a like new 2013 Flagstaff 228 MAC and know next to nothing about campers. Am a auto technician, so I'm mechanically inclined ,but these are a new bowl of wax.

Welcome to the forum . . .
The camper will become second home quite quickly.
Before that happens you'll be out already have a bunch of fun trips under the belt.
Happy and safe trails.

Welcome! We had a popup for years. They take some work to set up/tear down, but are so nice to tow and store. I also kind of liked the sound of rain on the canvas.

Just remember - if you put it away wet/damp, open it back up when you get home. You don't have to open it all the way, just pop the locks, raise the top 12-18 inches, and spread the canvas out to dry. When dry, tuck canvas back in and shut her down.

Enjoy!

Pete

Super nice floor plan especially if it has the little head and shower.

Preventive maintenance is key especially the tentage. We eventually moved to a hybrid to keep the tents (!) -- mainly because my wife and daughter claimed every cubic inch of storage space and I was tired of having to get clean clothes out of the truck every morning. And we didn't have the little shower.

Some trailer wheel bearings seem to lack grease and drum brakes need adjustment after they're worn in. Easy peasy for an auto tech.

Camp Driveway will sort out must things and Walmart has a decent little camper section. Setup and take down just takes organization and practice. I'm able to do it by myself in the rain both with the former popup and current hybrid with nothing more than paper towel mop up afterwards.

Nothing better for sleep than rain on a tent roof. My wife claims she sleeps better in the Roo than at home.
