Smile New Roo Owner!!

Hello! My family just purchased a 2006 Roo 23SS. We have been camping for over 20 years, and graduated from a 1987 Coleman Columbia Pop-Up that was about this _____ big! More recently we've been using a tent cabin that could hold my family of 4, and our boxer dog a little better than the Coleman. We look forward to many years of continued camping, with a little more amenities (like a functional bathroom!!) with our new hybrid.

I look forward to reading more, and getting to know some forum users!

All the Best!

Welcome from Canada and another former Roo 23SS owner (ours was a 2010). Keep the bunk door seals in good condition and you’ve got yourself a great hybrid. Congrats!

Welcome. We are also former popup people who have transitioned to a hybrid and love it. Hope yours meets all your expectations. I see from your info page that you are a fellow Marylander.... Maybe we will see you at a campground sometime.

Still the best floor plan the Roo offers (offered)!

I have an "early 2006" Roo 23SS now in a barn until next March or April when she will start her 16th camping season. I think the trailer body got wider and taller mid model year which would be nice but we're fine with the trailer as it is.

Recommend a ruthless check of the trailer, especially the roof, for cracked caulking as well as all the bed seals. I'm still running the original wheel bearings and brakes -- they get preventive maintenance every year. Grease is cheap.

Wheel lug nut torque and tire pressure are vital. Don't run old tires. I had a trip-killing blowout at speed on the Ohio Turnpike two years ago. Tires weren't original but were very old. Four or five years seems about max for trailer tires.
