New RV owners from South Carolina
Hi all!
My husband and myself recently retired and have traveled ALL OVER already. Hasn't even been a year! We decided it would be a LOT cheaper to buy a camper for as much as we plan to travel. (With this pandemic it would also be a lot safer.) I want to hit all the states. Not just drive through, but REALLY see them and spend time in each one. We just got back from the Route 66 tour and stayed in 14 different hotels!
We used to tent camp all the time when my kids were younger. But haven't been in yearssssss. So, this is like starting over.
When we retired I wanted to get back into camping. Not only to save some money while traveling, but to also get back outdoors. We couldn't tent camp anymore because I had back surgery and it was too much work setting up camp. So, we decided to buy a camper and bring the comforts of home with us.
We purchased a 20ft. Grey Wolf about 2 weeks ago. We haven't used it yet. I have been going through my old camping gear that I found in the garage and stocking it with what I can use and picking up some necessary items.
Then.... the storms came! So it hasn't left the driveway yet. We are going to camp at a state park near our house as soon as the storms pass to see if there are any bugs in the trailer before we head out and REALLY hit the road again.
We've never had to deal with sewer hose and all that. So we really need the experience also before we hit the road.
I am happy to be among you and look forward to any tips you may have for us!!!
