Post New Salem 26TBUD Owner

I just purchased a 2015 TBUD for myself and my 4 kids. HUGE improvement from the tent camping that we were used to. Can anyone give me any tips on anything they found with their camper? I'm also wondering if the stock antenna that is installed in the camper can be used to pick up local TV stations and if so how do I use it that way?

Any tips and tricks are very welcome

Welcome from Western MD!

Yes, the stock antenna can be used to pick up local stations. Depends on where you are - you may have to rotate the antenna. Make sure you turn the booster on. Your TBUD did come with a tv, didn't it?

Welcome to the forum and and congrats on your 2015 Salem 26TBUD! Reception from the stock tv antenna can be improved by adding a Wingman, link:
Winegard Wingman - Winegard RV-WING - Over-the-Air Antennas - Camping World.
It took me longer to climb up the ladder of our last 2 campers than it did to install it. When you get to a campground take note of which direction others have their antenna pointed and start there. Make sure you turn the booster on and scan for channels. Most tv's have a signal strength meter you can access somewhere in the menu. Tweak the direction of the antenna slightly for the strongest signal.

Unfortunately my TBUD didn't come with a TV but I took one from my kids room to use for now. You just have to hook up a coax cable in the TV jack and hit the button to turn on the little red light right?

I'll look into the Wingman, definitely a possibility and thanks for the tip.

Congrats on the new TBUD! We've been out about 75 nights in our 2013 TBUD between the last two years and love it. My only complaint is that the drawer under the couch doesn't stay put while traveling - we use a clamp while we're towing..

We also added shelves in the pantry and in the wardrobe closets - that was a big help.

We haven't used a TV in the camper, so I can't speak to the antenna

I am getting ready to start building some shelves for the pantry and the closets. I figured I'd just make something out of light pine but I'm not sure I'll have time until the off-season.

I had the Wingman installed on my TT and the over-the-air channels come in clearer.

We love to see pictures of your shelves once you get them done. You can finds lots of mod threads here on the forum.
