New Salem owner here

My wife and I just bought a 2009 Salem LA 29fkds yesterday from Pocono RV. I'm not picking it up until Friday and I'm climbing the walls (and will be all week!). Just thought I'd say hi--I've been reading on here since yesterday and have started a list of things to ask when I pick up, this site is awesome! This is our first TT, quite a step up from a 44 year old Nimrod pop-up. If anyone has any advice on this model or experiences with my dealer, please feel free to share (good or bad.) Thanks!

Ok, I'm still psyched about picking up the new unit, but some of the buzz came out of the camping trip for the weekend...the dealer wants to winterize it before I pick it up, as it's supposed to be below freezing this weekend. So I guess the first run is going to be a dry run, literally! Oh well, it's still a new camper, right! I'm sure we'll still have fun. Oh, and the dealer reviews on this site were eye-opening! Not so much on the dealer I bought from, but on the dealer I didn't buy from. So thanks to all for that, and I'm looking forward to writing a review on my dealer.

The good news is that it will be done for you already and its one less thing you will need to worry about but it has to be a downer too.

Stay warm on your trip and have fun!

Pocono is one of the dealers I didn't make it to when I was shopping, although they're not too far away. Looking forward to your review.

Well, I picked up the unit today, but the camping trip had to be kyboshed--I was sick all week, and wife just started getting sick Thursday morning, so the last place we needed to be was dry camping! The pickup was excellent, though. The owner of Pocono RV actually went over the entire trailer and spent about 2 hours with me before I pulled it out of the lot. So I brought it home, had a small incident with my mailbox pulling in to the driveway, and it's now parked in it's winter position. I think we're going to sleep in it tomorrow night if we both feel better!

Remember to take your snow shovel! I decided at the last minute today that camping season really is over and quickly winterized. Almost cried...

You're not kidding...it snowed an inch here Thursday night and another inch last night. Ugh.
