Post New to Forest River, 20+ years RVing

My wife (Judie) & I having been RVing for 20+, plenty of great travel memories. Recently traded out Winnebago for a Forest River Sunseeker 3010DS. We took delivery just before the sequester in place so we are admiring our new coach on our driveway. We are taking our time getting ready to take the initial voyage. My wife & I showed Beagles & Cocker Spaniels for 20 + years. In our retirement we want to travel more & see this beautiful country after the shutdown is over. We live in Plainfield, Il & we are both retired. While prepping the new unit for liftoff, I encounted a problem. When attempting to fill the fresh water tank, the water backs up & will not fill the tank. I have a secure fill adapter & that makes no difference. I've not experienced this in all my years of RVing, it is leaving me baffled. If someone out there has experienced this problem I would appreciate your assistance. Thanks in advance & Happy Beaglin.

Welcome to the forum. C'mon over to the Sunseeker / Forester sub forum and you'll get a lot of support.

I suspect the issue filling your fresh water tank is either a kinked fill line or the tank vent. From what I've read I think your fill line is kinked or blocked.

Try putting the pressure down. I start mine at a trickle and slowly increase pressure About half way. Seams to depend on which way the body is leaning. In a CG and level it will fill faster. At home because I'm on a hill and leaning toward the curb, I have to start slower. I went in under the bed and rearranged the hoses a little. It helped some, not much.
