new to forest river

hello everyone...i have been reading and absorbing a lot of information on these boards for a very long time. On Feb. 2 2021 we , my daughter and i, ordered a new sandpiper 383rblok pretty much fully optioned out. She will use this for her travel nursing assignments. She is a ER travel covid nurse. The full bathroom in the rear will be set up to become a decontamination room. I get to use when she is on her down time...my questions:

anyone with the 383 sandpiper or sierra having major problems with their 5vr?
anything in particular we should look for at our PDI?
has anyone ordered one of these and how long did it take to build or be delivered to dealer
Thanks in advance for sharing your knowledge.

Welcome to the forum its a great place to get your questions answered. Go to the library on the forum and download the PDI sheets the more detailed the better. Do not let the dealer rush you with the PDI make them explain and demonstrate everything they are taking thousands of your money they can spend some hours with you showing the systems.

WELCOME!
Sounds like a great way to go. Very nice floorplan.
As for your questions about the unit, sorry, can't help you on that.

Welcome from Wisconsin. Congrats and enjoy your Sandpiper 383rblok. X2 on what SeaDog said above. I'll add do the PDI before you sign anything or hand over any more $. If there is anything that needs fixing or you're not happy with have the dealer take care of it before finalizing the transaction.

Wow....I'm impressed. First that your daughter is a hero traveling Covid19 nurse. Second that you found the perfect rv with a second rear bath with it's own entrance that's perfect for decontamination. Well done.

Build times vary and your dealer should be able to give you an estimated delivery time. Shortages of appliances, parts and materials have made delivery times longer and more unpredictable.

Then, as others have said, make certain that everything works and is fixed before you sign the final papers. Once you sign those papers, you are shuffled off to the repair/warranty department and people have had their rigs there for months trying to get things repaired. We insisted that things were done before we signed the final papers and the repairs were done within a day. Then we signed the papers.

Welcome to the forum.
