New to Forest River, hello!

I live in my rv full time, and the 5th wheel I traded in was cumbersome to pack up and take out, resulting in me only moving it in an as needed basis. I traded in the 2021 Keystone Cougar 27SGS for a 2023 Rockwood MiniLite 2506S!

As much as I truly wanted the dinette, I settled on theater seating. I also had to immediately upgrade the shower head to what came in the Keystone - Empire Brass CRD-UP-APS70N Deluxe Upgraded 3-Function Personal Shower Hose Kit, a mere $20 expense.

Much less space, but comfy and easy to keep tidy. The one rack and pinion slide VS the 3 cable slides on the 5th wheel puts me at ease, too. A mobile rv tech that replaced my water heater under warranty exposed the stress adjusting cable slides could be.

I've already landed a 7 night spot at Garner State Park this summer!

Welcome to the group. I'm out of Central TX myself, near Ft. Hood.

Garner's a 300 mile drive for me on the Gulf Coast.

Welcome from a fellow Houston-ish Texan!

I personally like theater seating. They're much more comfortable than a booth. We didn't do full time, but we've (the two of us) traveled the country for 3 months at a time in a 19' trailer. You're going to enjoy the freedom to pack up and move to different campsites.

Enjoy Garner State Park. I understand getting reservations there can be difficult.

Thanks for the warm welcome!

I have definitely grown used to the theater seating's comfort, I just worry about the longevity of it being the only seating in the unit. I thought the booth would offer storage and easy repair of the cushions as they rapidly age. In either case, there's no furniture to tie down before transport in this smaller camper!

3 months at a time is a dream for me, I barely get 3 weeks in my career... I own a "home base" acre of land with full hookups near work. I'm in the process of building a casita there, too. If there's a forum here for home base projects, someone let me know.

It's definitely difficult to get reservations at Garner. Luckily my method landed me away from the holidays in July. I love Texas summer heat.
