New to forum - a/c question

Have been RV'ing for a few years, really enjoy it, and have met lots of nice people. Looking forward to getting information from others on the forum. We just bought a 2015 Cedar Creek 29 IK. Nice unit, larger bath, 2 air conditioner units, and self levling helped us make the decision. The unit was not hooked to 50 amps on the yard and we were not able to run the bedroom a/c at the dealer. The first night we camped looking forward to being extra cool in the bedroom, we found that the a/c was so loud that we could not sleep. The dealer checked it out and said it was "normal" just seemed loud because the unit was so close to the bed. The most common solution I have heard so far is to turn the bedroom unit off at night and run the living room unit which will work (they are ducted). Any comments/suggestions are welcomed. Thanks

This has been an ongoing topic of R/V forums for years.
Many want the extra cooling that a 2nd A/C unit brings... but then can't stand the noise.

Others say the 'white noise' of the 2nd A/C helps them sleep.

Others use just the living area A/C during the night to cut back on the noise.

Until they figure out how to build a central HVAC unit in the basements of these rigs, it's all about what you can put up with.

Oh... and 1st post... welcome to the forum!

Welcome. Yes, they can be quite loud. Like 5picker said, if it is too loud for you, only run the livingroom a/c during the night. If you don't want to do that, just set the fan on low, so it runs all the time. That way, the on/off cycle won't wake you up.

Good luck with your new to you home-away-from-home!

If I remember correctly Alfa 5th wheels had the A/C in the basement....Not sure if it worked very well or not.

Welcome to the forum and congrats on your purchase of a 5er. As mentioned we turn the bed air off at night and use the living area one at nice and then switch to bed room during the day to be able to hear the TV in the living room. There are quieter ACs but you going to pay the price for them also. Later RJD

We have a Windjammer model 3029 and I can relate to AC noise. We play swap the AC's. while in living area we run the bedroom AC and run the living area AC when we go to bed.

As everyone else said.
You just have to live with the noise of the bedroom AC.
