New to FR but not new to camping!

Hello everyone,

We just purchased our first Forest River product after owning tents, pop-ups and an older Trail-Cruiser TT. Sold our last one a few years ago, and just picked up our newest one in April.

Two trips outs so far and two more on the books, and we are excited.

We live in the eastern panhandle of WV, and my wife and two kids are so happy to be camping again.

Hoping to add some helpful experience to the forum, and tap all your collective geniuses as well!

Camp on!

Dirk from WV.

Welcome from east of Toronto, Ontario, Canada and congratulations on your new Surveyor. Hope you make many great family memories with it.

BTW, that’s a big trailer for a 1500! What are you using for a weight distribution hitch and sway control?

It is a little heavier than our last one for sure, but so far so good, and we are hoping to update the tow vehicle in the next year or two. Slow and steady.

I had been using Reese Dual Cam W/D for twenty years, but switched to Equalizer for this camper and so far I have to say I like it better. Where the Reese took a few "back and forths" to straighten, I feel like this hitch settles in faster and moves less to begin with.
