New to FRF

Hello!
John and Donna here, we hail from Anchorage Alaska our home for the last 40 years. We may be a little early for the Forum seeing that our 2022 FR GT 34H5 is on the production line now. If it is finished before the plant closes down for two weeks in December we will pick it up in late January, if not early February.
We are setting up our 2019 Jeep Trailhawk with Stay-in-Play Duo braking system and pulling our TOAD with an Avail 10K TB.
After we pick up our new coach we plan to dive right into PT RV life and head for Texas “Hill Country”as well as the “Texas Gulf Coast areas”.
My goal is to know as much about this coach as I possibly can before heading out, I plan on a 3 to 4 day pre delivery inspection before inviting my wife down from Alaska to join me. Learning the ins and outs of his coach such as the very thorough pre-delivery inspection so to understand all its systems has been made easier from all the posts and threads, Thank you all for posting, hopefully I will be a to contribute to helpful posts myself some day. Happy RVing!

Welcome to the board!!! I live in the hill country of Texas. The high today is 78. We travel all over Texas and love going to Padre Island National Seashore. At the end of February they do a beach clean up that is a great activity. Depending what route you take coming into Texas, i suggest one of your first stops should be at Big Texan Steakhouse in Amarillo. Then off to Palo Duro Canyon State Park, the second-largest canyon in the U.S.

EDC1911 thanks for the greeting! I have been watching those Texas temperatures they look delightful, Anchorage is 15F and not much change between now and February. I have only been to Texas one time in Nov when I delivered the TOAD to MHSRV in Alvarado to prep it for “WindSong” (name of our new coach). After flying to DFW from Anc and picking up Windsong we drive to Temple to pick up our Rad minis and on to Inks State Park (your State Parks are unbelievably beautiful and RV friendly) for 5 days, looks like caverns, wine country, hikes, bike rides and checking out local restaurants for a week. A day in San Antonio on way to Mustang State Park for 7 days.
We look forward to seeing the “Panhandle” and Palo Duro Canyon State Park on another adventure as well as a great steak at Big Texas Steakhouse (now that we know about it). We are excited to see Texas albeit just a small section of it on this trip, take care and possibly we will see camping someday!

Welcome to the forum from Texas! If you're buying from that big dealer in Alvarado, take advantage of their one night of free camping at the dealer to make certain everything works. Download a couple of rv apps to your phone before you leave home. We like Rv Parky and ParkAdvisor (which will help you find WalMart, rest areas, gas stations, etc.) on your trip. Sounds like you will be 'touring' in your beautiful new rig and that's how we 'camp.' Have a safe trip and....
