Sorry we don't have a generator so I can't say but I do suggest you read my
posts on another thread called
"getting ready for our 1st trip" in the Salem forum.

Welcome!!!

The Champion 4000/3500 watt generator is suppose to be a good one. I have heard good things. It is only like 68 db and a normal conversation is 60 db. Tractor Supply has them for 299 and Cabelas has them for 399. You can find them on both of their web sites. Hope this is some help.

While a 2000 watt will technically run the unit it most likely won't start it. If you're looking for a quiet unit I'd suggest finding one with a db level below 60. Honda is the most popular models then Yamaha and Kipor. A lot of people buy two 2000 watt units that you can parallel and get 4000 watts. That will run your entire unit. Most people claim that the Yamaha 2400 will run a 13.5k btu unit. If you're going to be camping alone or where the noise won't bother your neighbors the champion is touted to be a good cheap unit.

I'ver personally not seen or heard one but a lot of rv'ers like them. I'd be concerned about getting it worked on but if that's available then I'd say go for it.
