new to RV ownership

We are new to much of the RV world. We previously had a Bison horse trailer with living quarters, but this is our first foray into real RVs. We just bought a 2020 Forest River Sabre 270RL fifth-wheel trailer to go with our 2019 Ram 3500 diesel truck. We live about 25 miles north of Durham NC and live on a small farm with horses, donkeys, goats, chickens, dogs and cats. We are "semi-retired" (I am retired Navy, retired Navy civil service and currently a part-time pastor) and looking forward to doing some short-term camping and exploring as we move toward full-time retirement. We will be taking our first camping trip in about a week, so we are in the "getting ready to go" mode, getting all the accessories and items to enjoy some time at a nearby lake (Kerr Lake on the NC/VA border). We are hoping to do regular mid-week 3-4 day trips for the next few months to get the hang of things. Looking forward to learning a lot from those folks who have the experience and know-how.
Godspeed,
Chris

Welcome! Camp in it at home like your away from home. Shower, and all the fun stuff before you leave. Best way to figure out what you need and what if anything is not working.
