New to RVing

Hi all. I'm Drew and my wife is Lexa. We have been looking and researching RVs in order to find our first RV. We have decided on a Riverstone Legacy 37FLTH. We are looking at ordering/purchasing in the next 2 months and hope to join all of you in this great RV adventure very soon.
We are a few years out from retirement and very excited to hit the road and explore.

Tow Vehicle

Chris, we don't have one yet. We are going to order the RV first as we heard from the Sales guy at Forest River Riverstone that it will take 12 - 16 weeks from the day they receive the order. However, my wife is dead set on FORD, so an F350 DRW is in our very near future.

Shop hard!!

We took several years to decide on what fifth wheel to buy.

Everything Is out there.

Study! The rv you mentioned is a dandy.

Everyone has different criteria. Length. Width. Batteries. Leveling. Flooring. Structure. Caps. Hitch. Ac units. Etc.

We ended up with a unit about 20% more expensive than the original. We wanted to get into state parks And COE parks with 30 amp service. But had to have a king bed and washer dryer! Ours is a 50 amp unit that does well on 30. Also is shorter. 37’.

Then there is that trail the Amazon guy makes to your doorstep.

Part of the fun.

Ditto on the “Shop hard.”

Figure out the model you want first, THEN choose a dealer. The price can vary as much as 30%!

Fortunately, Jeff Couch (one of the least expensive dealers nationwide) is nearby us. Great on sales, not so much for service. We found Couch by first determining the model we wanted, and then searching for deals online.

Ditto eye95 on Couch.

Good price. Good PDI. Don’t know about service.

You gotta be handy! Returning to the dealer for repairs is an expensive pain in the lower regions.

Also, odds are you will be traveling when stuff breaks.

We go somewhere for a long weekend with an Ace hardware and Walmart close in the spring.

Eat and drink happily and fix stuff!
