New to RVs

Hi There. Just purchased a used 2018 Coachman Freelander 31BH and am getting it ready to go. There is a solar connection on the side for, I assume, a trickle charge for the batteries. One question... does the master battery switch have to be in the 'ON' position for this to work? Lots of sun here in Las Vegas to keep the batteries charged. Thanks! Looking forward to a new form (for us) to travel and see the country.

Sorry, I don't know the answer to the solar question, but in general, unless you're storing the rig, the battery switch should be 'on' You may need an administrator to move you to the coachmen forum.

Just wanted to welcome you to the forum!

Solar on the Side is a ™*of GoPower, and is almost always wired directly to the batteries, so no need to have the trailer 'on.' Takes a proprietary plug, make sure that - if you have this system and plan to deviate from it - than the polarity from the portable solar panel(s) is appropriately aligned.
