New To Site

Hello All from North Louisiana, my wife and I both retired spring of this year, looking at camping, have been looking at TT for past six months, just about decided on a FR Rockwood Signature Ultra Lite 8329SS. Will be just the two of us and the pups.

Pulling with 2014 Toyota Tundra 4 x 4 - 5.7 Crew Max - 1794 Edition w/ Tow Package. Have visited numerous RV dealers and read lots of post on forums and several of articles, trying to become as knowledgeable as possible before we make the purchase.

Looking forward to obtaining as much information as possible from this new forum.

Welcome from Tennessee...make sure you acquire a good dealer to work with, regardless of how far you have to travel. Get the weight distribution and sway control systems set up properly and hit the road. Spend some time on the Rockwood section here, on this very forum. Fun times ahead!

Welcome to the forum from a fellow Louisiana resident! This is a great place to start, there is an abundance of info on this site and a lot of really nice people willing to help you out with any questions you may have.
Years ago we had a Cherokee TT and loved it! Forest River makes a great product, and they really take good care of their owners. You won't be sorry!
We bought the Motorhome we have now from a dealer not far from you: Motorhome Specialists in Alvarado, TX. Believe me, it was really worth the drive! Some of our local Louisiana dealers kind of take the attitude "we are the only dogs on the porch, so we don't have to make you a good deal". Don't fall for it!
Good Luck in your search, and again Welcome to the Forum!

Karen

Sorry just now seeing this post. Keep in mind that the tongue weight is close to 1100 lbs. ready to camp. Large storage is challenging, no place to store a broom. Recliners are very comfy. Storage tanks could be larger especially fresh water. Street side is heavier with two slides appliances and storage
all on that side. Just keep that in mind when loading items.

We do really enjoy it and others are full timing in this unit. Do a careful PDI, and will be happy.

I forgot, get the carpet treads for the steps. Dogs foot pads are known to get caught in the holes of the steps. Very painful and serious damage can occur.

Welcome from Northern Virginia.

If you like the floorplan of the 8329SS, you should also consider looking at the Rockwood Windjammer 3029W. Im not sure how they compare in price, but the added walk in closet in the bedroom is something we really like. The only difference in floorplan in the main living area is the location of the kitchen sink and range. I believe the refrigerator in the 8329SS is larger.

Its worth a look.

Welcome from Texas. Get a good dealer which is very important. A rolling hotel will have a few problems which can be fixed by a good dealer. Lots of very good info on this forum. Enjoy camping and it's lifestyle.
