New WV Owner

Hello,
Live in eastern WV and just purchased a 33.5 ft Wildwood X-lite Midwest 273QBXL TT. Spent the weekend setting/loading it up. Now planning trips and are really excited. Have a 2021 Ram 2500 CCSB Cummins and the Camco R6 Recurve WDH. Looking forward to seeing others’ setups and learning from the seasoned campers here. Take care and God Bless!

Welcome from Southeastern PA. We also have the Wildwood X-Lite 273QBXL. We love it for the most part. There have been a couple of manufacturing defects, but nothing that Forest River hasn't stood behind and been willing to fix or compensate us for parts.

Before you go anywhere, I'd check the plumbing, and all the drains for leaks. That was a real lucky catch for us, and a $10 home depot trip when we de-winterized ours and were getting ready for our first shake-out trip. Otherwise we'd have been out a shower.

The people on this forum are awesome and extremely helpful about answering questions.

Congratulations, and don't forget to have fun on your adventures.

Thanks for all the replies, I planned on checking all the water lines. With the shower, did you open the small door at the bottom of the shower or are you recommending taking the panels off in the underbelly area when you found your problem? My plan is to check all the water lines I can see to ensure everything is connected. Any other checks you can think of that you did? Again, many thanks.

I pulled the little access panel off of the bottom of the shower and that was enough to check underneath. It was very obvious that they had broken the flange under the shower pan by installing the p-trap and flange in the wrong order, then manhandling it all together. We had a pink river running from underneath the shower to the middle of the floor.

We also tested every single thing in there. Every usb port, every light, every switch, heat and AC. There was a manufacturer recall on the slide and I wrote to FR to see if it had been done. The easiest way to know is if the skirting in front of the slide is fixed to the floor. (Thanks to this forum)

Other than that, I pressure tested everything, sprayed all of the propane joints I could get to along the chassis with soapy water solution.

If I can make a suggestion, if the ladies in your family, or you, have even remotely curly or wavy hair, invest in an oxygenics fury showerhead. Mrs. H said that you could "pee harder than the stock showerhead".

The other suggestion if you haven't is to put a Maxxair or other vent cover on your bathroom so you can run the exhaust fan in the rain.

We also swapped out the stock mattress in the front for a ghostbed rv short queen. I have been told it's more comfortable than our sleep number at home.

Congrats & welcome. That's a nice setup. That Ram will have zero trouble towing that trailer. Do keep an eye on the payload. The 2500 Ram is a wonderful truck, but the weight of that Cummins really cuts into your payload numbers. We are always right at the limit with ours.

Thought about it this morning and realized that I should include the "Contact Us" form if I'm saying you should ask them about the recalls. This is the form that I used to get to the Midwest support: https://forestriverinc.com/rvs/conta...gionSelected=1. Tashia was fantastic and able to answer questions. I'm pretty sure she's the only person fielding all of the questions for all the Wildwood Midwest models, so please be patient and kind. Like my great-grandma used to say "You catch more flies with honey than with vinegar"

Many thanks on the things to look for and check prior to use. I’m very appreciative and will look at everything you suggested.
