Newbie

New to RV Life'n'. Picking up our MY22 26MBRR on Tuesday afternoon, have only ever rented a 17' Toy Hauler once last summer, from that my wife and I had a few items we liked and did not like and went on the hunt for our own. It came down to either a 22RR(BL) or the 26MBRR and availability won. We have a 2019 F150 5.0L to pull with but don't plan on making super long trips at this time. It will be in storage until the winter is over so we have time to figure out everything we need for the unit's maiden voyage.
Once we take possession of it I am sure we will have more questions but first question is trying to determine what inverter/generator to get. I have looked at a few yamaha, honda and looked from a coupled pair to a large single. I am interested in hearing anyone's thoughts on either one.

TIA
Craig

Craig, welcome to the forum, I see it is your 1st post.

Generator choice and their use is an almost daily topic here on this and many other forums. Your question is asked a lot!

You'll need to determine what YOU want to power up to get an idea of what YOU will need. Best is subjective.

Some folks need air conditioning, some don't, etc.
Some want to be able to power up everything in their R/V just like it is connected to shore power, some don't.
Some want remote start, some don't.
Some want dual fuel (gas & propane) some don't.
Some have 30a R/V, some have 50a R/Vs.
Some want smaller generators they can lift and will parallel them to get more wattage.
Some want just a single, larger generator.

So as you can see, there are lots of things to consider. (and I only touched on a few, not all)

Be sure whatever you consider that it is an INVERTER type generator.

Do a search on the forum and you will have days of reading and more opinions on what someone thinks is best than you'll know what to do with. Wade through the posts and make an informed decision from those with actual experience and those who have/had SEVERAL generators and not just one person saying the one they have is best. Sure, it's been good for them but what exactly are they comparing it to?

Once you've figured out what/how you will use it, if you still have questions, come back and we can get specific.

welcome to the forum its a great place to get your questions answered. I use two yamaha 2000i normally only run one when charging batteries and two when I need AC or Microwave. I went with two due to weight I can lift one at 49 lbs very easy not so with a single unit with the same watts as the two in parallel. The other thing is the fuel use the smaller generator just sips fuel. In the end follow 5pickers advice on things to consider.

CSULYMA, welcome to the site. Open your recently received Welcome PM, locate and click on the link to Forums 101, following the instructions in post #7 of that thread to post a pic correctly. There are other good pieces of info in that thread.

Nice rig.
As an owner of a F150 3.5 Ecoboost with Max Tow package, I hope you can upgrade to a bigger and more capable tow vehicle. I would NEVER tow that trailer with mine. Towing a 33 1/2ft Toyhauler with a 1/2 ton is not my idea of a pleasurable tow combo.

It’s a shame you went straight to being the weight police, my first TT was 36’ bumper to ball, fully loaded close to 10k. I pulled it with two 1/2 ton trucks 2014 Tundra Limited and 2014 F150 Platinum never felt unsafe towing or stopping. The op mentioned his vehicle but didn’t seem to want or need our advice on it.

Welcome to the board!!! I have a 26RR, very similar specs as yours and tows great with my Tundra. I have a predator 4400 invertor generator and a honda eu2000. With a smart start kit on the AC, both generators does fine. The 4400 is my go to as I can power more appliance at the same time. Mostly the AC and a coffee pot...
