Newbie - Checking Grey Wolf 19

fHello to the forum.

I'm considering a 2019 Forest River Cherokee Grey Wolf 19SM Rear Electic Slide for our family for 4, wife and two little ones. I want to get the kids outside in Joshua Tree, Yosemite, Southern Utah, and some coastal campgrounds to do some fishing/spearfishing.

My main concern is the model does not look to be all seasons. The underside is exposed. Despite new at my local dealership, the line from the propane tanks is already rusted. Any thoughts?

Just make sure what ever unit you get it is big enough to haul your fish.

not many units are truly all season rated. many many threads about "artic" packages and "extended season" packages being nothing more then some cheep chloroplast on the underside and a marketing scam.

buy your second camper first. most folks that buy their first rig are selling it or trading it in very soon for a bigger unit.

You need to define what you expect all season to be and if you will have full hookups or camping off the grid. Most small to mid size camping trailers are not ideal for very cold weather.

Welcome from SoCal!

Hey, no fair going down there and shooting 'em At 1st I thought that was a yellowtail but now it appears to be a nice flattie.

Note that if your kids are under 4 or 6, they won't either understand what they are looking at nor will they remember it later. The flip side is that kids can have fun anywhere doing most anything, Give 'em some sand or dirt and they are good for a while. Give them a stream, lake or ocean bay and they are good for the summer.

In your shoes, I'd buy the largest unit I could safely tow and stay under 25'. The 25' thing is a state and oceanside thing. There are some exceptions so check the sites for where you want to be for such restrictions.

Welcome to the forum. As some said most campers are not all season. Depending on the area you are going to camp in the rig your looking at may work depending on temps. Good hunting. Later RJD

I wouldn’t be concerned about the propane line, they are usually black iron pipe which will rust almost immediately when exposed to any moisture.

As previously mentioned, not many TT’s are truly all season capable and it takes a lot more than some covering in the bottom and heat pads on the tanks to make one all season. We’ve used ours in occasional 40 degree weather without any issues, you will have some condensation on windows but we leave a roof vent slightly open to allow warm moist air to vent out.
