Newbie from TX

Hiya! Well, hubby and I purchased our first camper last weekend. Itís a 5th wheel Sandpiper 379FLOK we got in the metromess. We are still purchasing things for it. Until we get it the way I want, we wonít be making any trips. Kinda nervous to do so, anyway, since we both donít know what we are doing. Lol

Anyway, thanks for having this forum. I will be reading lots, trying to educate myself on the camping world.

Welcome from Wisconsin. Congrats and enjoy your new Sandpiper 379FLOK. Best way to learn is to get it out there and use it. Lots of friendly, knowledgeable and helpful people here.

As you camp, you're going to find that you'll never use some of the things you've bought and need things you've never thought of. If you can do a bit of driveway camping or camp close to home for your first timeout, you'll figure things out. Much easier to drive a few miles to get a tool than have to buy one on the road.
Beautiful rig. Congratulations and welcome from a fellow Texan!

Welcome from central Iowa. First two camping trips literally right down the road at a COE campground and each time we came home with a list of "stuff" we needed.

Welcome kimmykim from just north of Houston. What part of the United State of Texas are you from? Like Wiscampsin said, the best way to get into it, is to get out and use it. There will be some initial jitters, but you will get things worked out. I also suggest you get a pen and a pad (or the electronic equivalent of that), so you can take notes and write things down you find you need, or other things you find you don't need. Anyway, good to have you aboard, and hope to see you down the road!

I don't see that in the profile. I did look before I asked. Either way, welcome again!

Congrats from Arkansas

Do a couple of practice set ups in the yard. It will help.

My first trip was almost the death of me and my marriage. Get walkies or phone on speaker and COMMUNICATE. My wife is my go to helper for site parking. I donít really ďneedĒ her after that, but she helps inside.
I dented my cab on the first trip as well.

Now I always say when someone asks about our trip... No one got hurt and nothing was torn up... so it was a good trip. Make a good check list. Walk around a couple of times. Look high and low. Most common left item is prolly the crank up antenna if you have one. Gotta get back to see it.
