Newbie shopping for first Motorhome

Hi All
Me and DW are looking to purchase our first motorhome and are heavily leaning towards a FR 2800/1 GTS model. Just got back from Hersey RV Show and really liked the Forest River products but they didn't have a GTS model to look at. Expecting one "soon" but Philly is a bit far to go for a look. Appreciate any advice on getting a good deal. Best internet price so far was $77K in Ohio someplace, which wasn't bad for a MSRP $109K. Is it worth looking way outside of your neighborhood for a good price? I mean a thousand or two probably wouldn't take me away from the local dealer. So far looking at he FR forum, and others, I haven't seen a lot of complaints for FR homes, just the normal stuff. I'm pretty handy with my toolkit so I think I'll be OK with our choice??? Rest assured I'll be browsing the site in depth before we put in our order!

Thanks for any input!

We looked at that one, and decided on a new 2015 FR3 28DS for around $74,000 and we love it.

And if you indeed have DYI skills don't get extended warranty, just log in here!

I had a slide out motor failure before the first trip and Forest River went out of their way to remedy!

Have you checked Dylans in Sewell NJ? Cross the Walt Whitman, take NJ-55 south, get off at exit for Delsea Dr/ NJ-47. Take NJ-47 south. The dealership will be on your right at the 1st light.

Dylans gets good & bad reviews for price/service but I got a good deal on my 2011 Berk & have had little or no problems with service other than sometimes waiting for an appointment. They've since opened up a new service center & haven't had a problem getting an appointment since.

I think Stoltzfus also carries FR products. They're on US-322 west in Glen Mills, PA.

I'm pretty handy with my hand also so I don't have to take the coach in very often.

Whatever & wherever you purchase from, you'll be pleased with your FR product.

Good luck & keep us apprised of your search.
