Newbie wants to thank all for the help!
I just wanted to thank everyone from the bottom of my heart for the great advice I received from this site. To see the excitement on my wife's face today was priceless, (last 6 years have been rough on her and she had just about given up on life) I wish I could have shared her happiness with you guys. Sometimes you guys /girls may think....oh another newbie. Let me tell you, in my situation it went much deeper than that, possibly life changing for my wife. We picked up our new Cherokee 274 RKS today! Armed with the advice I received here and some common sense, the 80 mile trip in 35-40 mph winds went smoothly. The truck towed the camper beautifully. The wind kept me on my toes, but nothing near the white knuckle ride I envisioned.Parking wasn't to bad. It was a tight spot and I got it on the third try.All in all a successful trip.
To the newbies...arm yourself with the proper equipment. Tow mirrors, brake controller, equalizer/stabilizer,watch your weights and you'll be fine.I am not trying to make light of towing anything but I think sometimes we get ourselves overworked about it, I know I did

I was so over whelmed the day I took delivery of my TT that I seriously considered selling it that night. With camping comes experience. In the meantime just take it one step at a time.

Welcome from another Floridian. There is a lot of great info here, & though I've never met anyone on this forum personally, I can see they are a great bunch of folks. I do know that most all of the people I've met at campgrounds & rv parks are top of the shelf. I'm looking forward to meeting some of them & will keep my eyes out for you as we enjoy our wonderful state.

I still get a little anxious before towing but after I'm on the intestate, at a cool 63 mph with nobody around me, it's all good!!

I think everyone gets a little anxious, but after driving a bit you settle down. It's funny how everyone has their own MPH their comfortable at....my comfort speed is 56-58
