No more tent camping!! New A122

Hello all
We just purchased a new A122 and we're very much looking forward to our first test run July 4th weekend. Went to pick it up yesterday at LazyDays and spent the night in the delivery area. It rained like a son of a gun and now we're glad it did since it exposed two major leaks, one in the right rear corner and one from the left lower corner of the skylight. They're going to keep it there and "make it perfect". Oh well, hopefully it's a blessing in disguise.

Anyway..we're excited to be on this forum and have already had a few questions answered just by poking around.

Do I need to be hosed

I too have a new hard side A122 but mine has never been in the rain. Are these leaks common on forest river products? Before I set out on my 3 week camping trip do I need to get the garden hose out and test for leaks? I thought most manufacturers did the leak testing before shipping.

We just got back from a very wet trip to central Fl. I found no leaks at all. But, it wouldn't hurt to do a hose down before your trip. Also, i discovered that the small outdoor shelf is not waterproof. Mine fell apart after the first rain. I have since rebuilt it using a bamboo cutting board and the hardware from the old shelf. I suspect that the dinette is made from the same material, so i would not use it outdoors if there is any chance of rain. We, instead, use a folding leg table (5ft) that stows nicely right atop the permanent bed.

Thanks. Had a weekend "shake down" over the 4th and some light rain. No leaks so far so we will just hope things work out for us. Thanks also for the outdoor shelf warning...must be made of particle board with a laminate top? I also wonder about putting all that weight on that little channel along the sidewall. My unit was delivered with 70 psi tire pressure... is that a good number?

I usually keep tire pressure a few pounds under max. I can't remember what my pressure is, just check the pressure info on the tire. The shelf was made of particle board.

We just did our shakedown trip last weekend and it rained pretty good. I got to hand it to Lazydays. They fixed the leaks and everything else worked like a charm. But I did leave my side table attached during the downpour and it started to warp. Guess I'll replace the top with a bamboo cutting board also. Thanks for the tip!! Off to the Smokies next weekend!
