Noob in TX

Hi everyone,

First time owner here. Bought a 28 View. Plan is for wife and me to live in it full-time on our property while we build a house. Don't have a tow vehicle so it will likely be put in place and...?

Very little RV/travel trailer experience. We've rented a couple in the past, but never owned or maintained one.

I've been searching the forums, but will probably have some questions as I wrap my head around the typical stuff like tank maintenance and the pros and cons of compost toilets.

Anyway, howdy!

Welcome from Virginia !! A lot of great information on the forum.

Just curious is your 28 View a Salem or Wildwood.

Sounds like you live in one of the few 'unregulated' places in Texas.

You should be fine storing the tanks without water in them.

Composting toilets are not common, but it sounds like that would work in your circumstances. You might also consider an 'incineration toilet' which would reduce the waste considerably.
If you have no regulation, your grey water might be able to be emptied onto the ground using a hose and one of these. https://www.amazon.com/Valterra-T102...10&sr=8-8&th=1

As far as maintenance, you need to pay special attention to roof seams because of the hot sun.
You also need to crawl under that rig and plug any holes with stainless steel wool to keep out the critters.
Another thing to consider would be an EMS/Surge protector to protect the electronic items in your rig.

In this intro, I was just trying to say hello and provide some info about my general situation. Before I posted questions, I spent some time searching the forums, and not finding specific answers to my questions, posted them in the plumbing forum. Sorry if it is redundant.

Sorry. I'm the one that posted the answer to the question you posted in the other forum in this forum. Darned if I know how that happened.
You did it the correct way... I didn't.
