NTU Sunseeker owners

Good evening everyone, my wife and I are the proud owners of a 2017 Sunseeker 3170. We brought her home today and got to play in our driveway. I love the RV and think it’s a perfect fit for our family.
One thing I do not like though is not having a way or knowing a way to know I’m on external power. So the previous owner built a conversion rig that goes from 30A to 110. I plugged the surge protector into it first to make sure it was okay, then plugged the RV in. But how do I know that I am on external power and not just running on batteries. I plan on putting in a 30A in the garage to plug into when we want to prep the RV for camping, but I’m scared of not having some sort of dummy light to say I’m on external power, I don’t know of it’s because I’ve been an aircraft mechanic for 30yrs and every aircraft always had some sort of light or indication you were on external power to give me that warm and fuzzy, 🤷*♂️

Welcome "new owner".
I always know when I am not on shore power (or 110) is that certain appliance stop working, such as the TV.

If your microwave is not on, you're not on shore power. In fact, the beeping of the microwave as it turns on is how we know the shore power is working.

If you're putting in a 30 amp, make certain it's wired properly for an rv.
Most things in your rv will run if you plug it into household current using one of these. https://www.amazon.com/Camco-PowerGr...715399484&th=1
Obviously, the ac probably won't work and you might not be able to actually use the microwave, but the electric start on your fridge, water heater and your ac outlets will work.

I echo everything said above here. Also….along with the microwave beep when it first gets power, it’ll probably be flashing 12:00 until you set it. There’s your power on confirmation.
