Old RVer, new to FR, first post

Hello to all. I've been a camper nearly all my life. The Flagstaff Classic 831FKBSS I picked up the other day is our third RV, the first new one and it's a very, very far cry from the 9X9 canvas tent that is my earliest recollection. The DW and I did some tenting early on. Her first experience sleeping off the ground and the coming of children ended that.

I've been lurking here since we ordered our new RV and have discovered much useful information while we impatiently waited for it. Hopefully I can contribute some as well.

Welcome to the forums. As one guy said to me one time when we were out camping and he saw our rig:

"Heck of a wall tent ya got there"

Wow! I just looked at photos of your RV online - beautiful! That is something to aspire to when we no longer need the four bunk beds.

We tent camped for a while, but DW learned a new way to camp it was spelled H-O-L-I-D-A-Y I-N-N, Then we looked at the TT's and that changed. There's a new world out there and time to see as much of it as possible.

We looked and waited for several years before coming across this unit. The Tuscan creme/Cherry combo wood with the plank-like flooring was the final selling feature, I think.
The power awning, stabilizers and front jack were not considerations.

I was worried a little about a 34 foot trailer behind my truck. Took it out for a shakedown of sorts, about 50 miles, into, across and with a pretty steady 15 mph or so wind. I put it on a scale, the setup needs to be tweaked, but, it seems to tow better than my old 27 footer, maybe that's just in my mind.
