Really new CA Forest River Cherokee

Just bought a brand new 2019 Forest River Cherokee 264CK. Family will be living there while building a small house. I'm new to trailer living and this trailer. The trailer arrives in 2 days, and I need to calculate the wiring gauge and type needed from the existing panel to the trailer. Have an electrician to help with that part. But I don't know if the trailer is 30 amp or 50 amp.

The RV dealer is not open today, so I can't ask them. My family will be living there for months, I won't risk using wire that won't handle 50 amps with complete safety. Does anyone here have a 2019 Forest River Cherokee 264CK and can tell me what amp electric supply it needs?

Welcome from SoCal! Congrats on your new camper too.

Have you tried looking on FR INC website to see if it’s listed in the specs or advert? You might check out the sub forum here for that type as well. Sorry but I’m away from home & my computer. I think I know the answer to whether it’s 30 or 50 amps I rather not guess.

Just sharing that there’s a Forest River rally in May here in SoCal. You might want to check it out. It’s a great way to meet other FRF members & FROGs.

FROG = Forest River Owners Group.

Than you for the welcome! So far this seems like a nice community. I did try FR website, and several dealer ads, no luck. Yeah, I definitely don't want to guess. I did finally think of reviewing the youtube walkthrough videos for the trailer: two of them say it's 30 amps. I'll probably still wait until I've confirmed with the dealer to buy extension cords. Mostly because I don't know enough to assume anything. What if amps depends on how it's equipped? But at least I can prepare my shopping trip for the 30 amp cords. Wiring a new circuit into the main panel on the property would be a pain, though we may end up doing something on the panel to accommodate the 30 amp plugs.

What kind of cord came with the trailer to connect to a campground outlet?
A 30 amp plug looks like this:

A 50 amp plug looks like this:https://www.amazon.com/MICTUNING-Rep...094169&sr=8-10

If your trailer is 30 amp and you have 50 amp on your property, they make this adapter
