Retiring Soon

Hi folks. My wife and I just bought a 2015 Apex by Coachmen 215rbk and we are looking for some quality travel time after we retire in February. Previously Popup campers, we are succumbing to the desire for a better bed and a closer toilet! We expect to enjoy the outside kitchen as well. We would like to add a couple of small windows in the side walls of the slide out, but I’ve been unable to find much in the archives. Anybody have any input on that subject. I figure if they are small and I avoid the aluminum frame, I should be ok. Thanks to all.

I have been contemplating adding a baggage door to my trailer. I have done this before. You just have to plan the cut carefully from the inside to avoid cutting something crucial.

The link below may have something that you an use.

Congrats on the retirement. We're (I am; She's already retired) retiring at the end of the year and we plan to do some more traveling in our RV.

As for adding the windows to the slide out sides. If you have (or get) a good electronic stud finder you can find the frame in the slide out. There's a good chance that there's no frame member in the middle of the side wall.

You'll want to get windows with relatively flat flanges so they'll clear the seal flaps easily.
