*tap tap* Is this thing on?

Since I was encouraged to pop over here and introduce myself, and since I've never really been the type to try and hide in the back row, here's my first post.

I've been using the nickname Hoomi (pronounced "Who? Me?") for probably around 20 years now on various sites. For the past nine years, my better half and I have been using an old '99 Coleman Nevada popup trailer. Between it showing its age, and me showing my age, we decided it was time to upgrade. Yesterday, we signed all the papers to purchase a 2021 Forest River Cherokee Wolf Pup.

We're going from a P'up to a Pup. I sense a trend there.

We'll take delivery on the new trailer on the 27th, so in the meantime, we're working on outfitting the new rig. Some of the stuff from the old P'up will transfer right over, while other items will get new.

Our first trip in the new trailer is planned for the first weekend in April, and we'll haul it just outside of town to stay a couple of nights in Tucson Mountain Park. Our first choice would have been one of the nearby Arizona State Parks, but between many of our winter RV'ers still being in the area, and reduced occupancy due to Covid measures, there were no available spaces in our nearby parks. For the campground we're heading, I managed to reserve the last available spot for that weekend.

While we're not new to trailer camping, it's going to be interesting getting used to a trailer that doesn't have to be unfolded on arrival, and refolded before leaving. That said, we're looking forward to it.

On the personal side of things, I've been happily married to my best friend for 41 years now. We have two grown children, but no grandchildren likely in the foreseeable future. I'm still working as a Calibration/Service Technician for a large electronics company, while my better half is an office manager for a small company that makes props for fire performers. She enjoys machine embroidery among other crafts, while I enjoy radio control flying. We both scuba dive, and love the great outdoors.

I no longer have image hosting set up online, so no photos at this time.

I'm looking forward to checking out the group here, and getting to know other owners online, and maybe running into some of you at a campground in the future.

Welcome aboard from SC and wow what a great introduction! You will find a lot of good advice and several friendly disagreements on this site, especially when it comes to tow vehicles and tires.

Happy and safe camping!

Okay, let's try the photo again, following the instructions.

Wait - are we actually supposed to follow instructions? I mean, sure, it'll likely bypass a long period of frustration and complaints that things are not working the way I think they're supposed to, but does that fit with the popular image we're expected to uphold?

Wow. Talk about a niche market. How could the company be anything but small?

The company had several employees a few years back. Now, it's just down to the owner, my wife, and our son, who is the manufacturer (though my wife also does some of the manufacturing).

I'm something of an unofficial employee, as I often do the schlepping for my wife, and for the last two or three years, have put on the Santa suit for holiday product photos.

Welcome to the forum.
I didn't even think about it while we were buying it, and only noticed when I loaded the photos onto the computer, that the trailer color goes very well with the color of our Sequoia. As Bob Ross always used to say, "Happy little accidents."

Mounted the 32" TV today, by moving over the mounting bracket a few inches so that it would not interfere with the bathroom door. Installed two 3M Command adhesive hooks for towels in the bathroom, and the always necessary trash bin. Put a lock and chain around the battery box to hopefully slow down the battery thieves. Were we not planning on using the trailer for a while, I'd go ahead and pull the battery and store it someplace secure, but with a shakedown trip planned next weekend, and getting everything set-up, removing the battery isn't practical at the moment. The propane tank, however, is removed and locked away (lost one of those from our trailer to the thieves, and found evidence of them trying to cut away the locking cable I had on a later one). We'll likely pick up a small Blu-ray player to have in the trailer, for those times when outside activities might be impractical.

I love it when the tow vehicle just happens to match the trailer. Looks great!

Nice pics.with my wife and I being new to the RV world. Good to know I can move the TV mount.

Received the Thin Shade today for the "Thin Shade Ready" door window. Easiest add-on I've done to a trailer in a while. Everything's just about ready for her maiden trip this weekend, so I should have photos and such up on Sunday afternoon/evening and a report of how it went.

I put up three more Command Adhesive hooks - one by the bathroom mirror for a hand towel, and two in the shower enclosure to hang washcloths. For a TP holder, I found one designed to hook on the side of a toilet tank, but which hooks over the cabinet door below the bathroom sink just as well. Fridge is chilling overnight, with the crisper drawer from the fridge filled with ice to speed the process along. Freshwater tank is app. 2/3 full, treatment packs added to the black and gray water tanks, and everything should be ready for a fairly quick final prep before heading out to Tucson Mountain Park after work tomorrow.

Welcome again from Alaska. We have been through Tucson twice this winter as we have zig zagged across Arizona. Enjoy the hard sided trailer.

It's too bad you live in such a bad place that you have to lock up a cheap dealer supplied battery and 20lb propane bottles! That just stinks.
