The awaited day arrived
Retired today after 47 years of full time employment. Wife and I have the house on the market in Fresno, CA and will relocate to a home base in the Portland metro area. Sept-April in Surprise, AZ area. Not wishing our life away anxious to begin this new chapter. It would take a lot to wipe the smile off our faces!

Congrats! We are doing the same thing! Retiring 6/6/15 (me) and 8/31/15( DH). I will be anxious to hear about your adventures since you will be a few months ahead of us Have a great time.

Congratulations!
I also just retired, Dec. 30, after 35 years with the State of California.
We sold our house in Napa and moved to Washington. Couldn't take California politics anymore and I'm a native.
Have 5 acres on a Puget Sound island.
We also will be traveling during the winter months.
