tow/haul mode

We just purchased a Sunseeker 2850. We have gotten conflicting advice from two different dealers. When travelling in our motorhome should we turn on the tow/haul Mode even when not pulling anything behind us? One dealer said to keep it on as the weight of the motorhome was what we are hauling. The other said only to use if we were pulling something extra behind us. Thoughts?

A quick scan across the interwebs shows the empty weight is only 3000 lbs below the GVWR. Loaded up it's going to be really close to the GVWR, plus the high wind resistance adds to the load on the drivetrain. I'd say that's 'hauling'. You can try to run without tow/haul in the flats but if it kicks in and out of overdrive just keep it on.

I use T/H, when I think of it, in my Ram all the time. I think it accelerates better and less wear and tear on the brakes when slowing down. There may even be some MPG gain.

I also turn on the exhaust brake also. It helps in slowing down and supposedly keeps soot off the turbo.
