TV Issue/New member
Hello all from Indiana,
Has anyone had this happen? We are new to RVing as we previously camped with my mother in a pop-up. In December 2021 we purchased a Rockwood Ultra light with a bed slide. Love it but on our second trip out the TV fell off of the bracket destroying the TV. Bracket still attached to the wall. My husband is very handy, works in construction. The dealer and Forrest River were less than helpful. Is this a design issue? We now remove the TV prior to any travel. Have friends who have never had any issues.
Thanks,
Pam

There’s as many different TV bracket designs as there are TVs, so we have no idea what design you have. Also, it’s possible the previous owner did not have it attached properly and a combination of things caused it to come loose.
I don’t know what brand I have for our second TV, but I did study how it connects, and it hadn’t dislodged since I installed it. BTW….I don’t disconnect before travel.
Sorry I can’t help more.

We've never run with the T.V. in the mount. Always take it off and place it on the bed for travel. Design issue? No, more like a physics issue. There's a lot of jarring and bouncing going on in a towable going down the highway.

Since you didn't post year and model number of your RV nor where the tv was mounted, it's hard to help without more information. Did you buy it new or used?
For example, the tv in our living area, is on a wall v-mount bracket. We leave the tv there while traveling.
BUT our bedroom tv mount is a swing-down ceiling mount. We never leave the tv on it, while traveling. We lay it flat on the the bed, under the pillows.
But I'm confused with your description. It sounds like the wall bracket didn't fail so did the tv's back mount fail?
Pics are often more helpful than descriptions.

The RV was new when we purchased it. Yes, a section of the interstate was very bumpy.

So the screws came out/broke off where the bracket is attached to the TV?
Sounds as though it wasn't installed correctly?
A picture is often a better description.

So was it the tv in the living area or the bedroom tv? And where did it detach, from the wall mount or from the mount on the back of the tv?
Your thread might be more appropriate in the Rockwood sub-forum, where there are many helpful 2608BS owners.
