Hello from Ohio

Hello from Ohio! Iím new to the forum. My wife and I purchased our first travel trailer this spring. We have a 2021 Rockwood Mini Lite 2511s. We absolutely love it! We are buying a 3/4 ton RAM truck to replace our 1500 Silverado. We have a husky WD hitch and plan on using it with our new Ram 2500. Iím thinking we might need a longer hitch shank because the Ram sits higher? Any advice would be appreciated!

When I went from a Dodge Grand Caravan to a Dodge Durango the height difference with my Geo Pro G17RK required me to go to this shank:
Husky Towing Husky Towing 2in Square 10in L Shank 7 1/2in Rise 9 1/2in Drop 6,000lb Shank Carrying

When I replaced the Geo Pro G17RK with a Venture Sonic 231VRL, I no longer needed the extra drop and went back to my original shank which came with my Harbor Freight WDH because it was much lighter, and less chance of dragging it on the ground.

If it's 4wd you'll need about an 8 or 9 inch drop shank. I have a 9 inch on my Equalizer WDH..

It depends when I went from F-150 to the F350 I was able to flip my shank to get the drop. No I didnít need the WDH on the 350 but it was the only drop hitch I had. By the way after about 60 miles I pulled over put my bars on trl was swaying so bad. If I hadnít seen in the mirrors I would have never known.
