Water pump over fill

Hello all,
We have a 2014 sunseeker 3170 ds. I pulled into Rv site, and started to hook everything up as usual. I hooked up the water line to the city water hook up, water pump off. The next morning, we had water coming out the fresh water hook up. We turned off water and then noticed water under the bed compartment. Any suggestions what would cause this?
I now have to use pump for water out if fresh water tank.
Thank you for help.

Higher water pressure at the park can override the check valve at the pump causing it to backfeed to the FW tank. Happened to me at the SIlver City, NM KOA even with the cheapy WP regulator.

You might not need to change it yet, It has happened a couple times to me, what I did was turned off the city water and just used the pump. After awhile turn the pump off and rehook up your city water. If the diaphragm went it will fill your fresh water tank again. Also clean the little bowl with the screen in it attached to the pump. They sell a kit to replace the diaphragm, but IMO it is better just to buy a new pump....

After some friends told me of the problems they had with cheap bullet type regulators... I purchased and installed a Watts home water pressure regulator in my hose line setup. set the pressure at 60 psi and never had any trouble, well worth the few extra dollars for the Watts.

This fixed my back fill problem:

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...?ie=UTF8&psc=1

$7 shipped through my amazon Prime. Installed between my pump and the tank line in less than 5 minutes, simply unscrew line from pump and screw this in place between line and pump.

Beats open/messing with the failed pump internal check valve.
