We just bought our first RV

Hello. The welcome email suggested that we come here and introduce ourselves, so here goes.

My spouse are in the process of purchasing a 2019 Salem Cruise Lite. We were planning to wait until the spring or early summer to purchase, but found a deal too good to pass up.

So far, our plans are to travel over Spring Break and again through the summer to escape the Florida heat.

If all goes well, will begin purging the house and defining what we really want and need as part of our planning to eventually do a full-time travel adventure. I'm a grey area retiree and my spouse can work remotely with the right tools.

We are both excited and nervous about beginning a new chapter in our lives now that the kids are all out of the house and have lives of their own. I'm sure we will have lots of newb questions as we travel this new road.

Thanks for providing a space to learn and connect.

Congratulations on your purchase. Get in it and use it for a few trips to get any needed repairs done while they are under warranty. That 1 year begins the minute you sign the papers, so any "down" time is still using up your warranty. If you are in FL, you should be able to get out and do a few weekends even if the temps are cool. It is always good to camp when it's cool and you can sit around a campfire (wood or propane).

Thanks everyone for the warm welcome.

While we would love to get the RV out I don't think it's going to before February. My daughter is getting married on December 29th, so while my deepest desire is to run to the woods and hide, I just can't.

We do have hopes for a weekend in both January and February and then a full week in March.
